10 Biggest Similarities Between Guardians Of The Galaxy And Star Wars

10. Scum And Villainy

The Mos Eisley Cantina scenes from the original Star Wars are arguably some of the most beloved in the entire franchise. It was in this dark and dreary saloon where fans first witnessed the true scope of the Star Wars galaxy, getting their initial glimpse of the vast array of creatures and misfits that dwell within its realm. It became the launching point for the rest of the narrative and adventure. A similar scene, and subsequent launching point moment can be seen in Guardians Of The Galaxy, when Star Lord and his posse first arrive at the Klyn - a prison for the galaxy's worst scum and villainy. It is in this prison where our new cast of heroes similarly begins the second act of their quest. The similarities between the two films in regard to scum and villainy are obvious - both galaxies are visibly full of bottom feeders who€™s personal desire to promote their own advances at the expense of others often threatens to derail our heroes journey. These films do an equally magnificent job of showcasing the presence of the criminal underworlds that exist in their respective galaxies. These scenes not only set the tone of their respective films but ultimately make for a stronger story, leading to the introduction of some of the more memorable and outlandish characters.
