10 Biggest Ways The DCEU Has Changed From Original Plans
6. The Post-Credits Scenes Went Nowhere
Marvel Studios popularized the use of post-credits scenes in their movies, with fans now sticking around until everything fades to black before leaving the theaters.
The DCEU also adopted this tactic, but for the most part their stingers have gone absolutely nowhere and never seem to be mentioned ever again, acting only as a reminder of the constantly shifting creative direction of the franchise.
Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor hinted at Darkseid's impending arrival at the end of Batman v Superman, and then appeared alongside Joe Manganiello's Deathstroke in Justice League's credits, but neither those actors or characters appear to be a part of the franchise anymore. Bruce Wayne showed up at the end of Suicide Squad, but Ben Affleck is also out, and the titular team themselves are in the midst of getting rebooted by James Gunn.
Even Justice League's comic book homage to the race between Batman and The Flash seems out of place, because the all-star superhero team definitely won't be getting a sequel, while there's constant speculation about the futures of both Henry Cavill and Ezra Miller.
While Aquaman and Shazam! featured scenes that will likely be paid off in future instalments, for the most part, the DCEU's post-credit sequences are an unrelated mess of abandoned plot threads and actors we'll never see again.
