10 Biggest Ways The DCEU Has Changed From Original Plans
4. Justice League Parts One And Two
Anybody that's seen Justice League can probably gather that the movie doesn't tell a complete or even coherent story, which isn't surprising given that it was originally intended to be the first half of an epic two-part saga.
After confirming that he would be directing Justice League in April 2014, six months later it was officially announced that Zack Snyder would also be helming Justice League Part Two. Set to arrive eighteen months after the first installment, the follow-up would presumably tie together all of the plot threads that had defined the DCEU thus far.
When Snyder was forced to depart Justice League in the wake of a family tragedy, Joss Whedon was brought in as his replacement. Any plans for a sequel quickly fell by the wayside, as the disappointing critical and commercial performance of the movie resulted in a definitive line being drawn under the early years of the DCEU.
The studio's new mandate was to focus on standalone movies while reshaping the creative direction of the entire franchise, leaving Justice League Part Two as nothing but a faded memory.
