1. The "Werewolf" - The Wolf Of Snow Hollow
The Wolf of Snow Hollow is one of the most subversive horror-comedies of the last few years. Jim Cummings' flick follows a small-town sheriff attempting to solve a series of grisly murders that have, seemingly, been caused by a werewolf.
What's brilliant about the concept is that it initially seems like your regular old horror, where the skeptical officers need to be convinced that something supernatural is afoot. This feeling is aided because, unlike the police, the audience actually sees these murders happen, and is well aware that a seven-foot wolf is out there eating people.
Or is there? We certainly see a wolf, but it turns out not everything is as it seems...
The ending's big reveal proves the police were right to be skeptical, as nothing otherworldly was responsible at all. Instead, the killer is a delusional psychopath, who dresses up in a convincing werewolf cosplay to live out his weirdest animalistic desires.
Who saw that coming?
