10 Bill Murray Movies You Should Throw Out The Window

2. Charlie's Angels

The Noughties opened for Murray in irreverent fashion when he played executive assistant Bosley in McG's movie version of the small screen hit. His role was to pop up intermittently, sometimes in outlandish get up, serving to boost the laugh factor of an escapade where stars Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu sought to take down bad guys Sam Rockwell and Tim Curry as violently and as sexily as possible. The deadpan dynamo clearly had a say in the script. His own scenes were tolerable, but overall he struggled to make an impression in a comedy put together by people who, with the best will in the world, didn't really understand comedy. Many of the jokes were left over from the Carry On era and while the principal performers were having a great time the more intelligent members of the audience who weren't checking out their revealing outfits were not. By the time Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle arrived, Murray had jumped ship, to be replaced by the late Bernie Mac. Rumours abounded that he'd gotten into a spat with Liu. Far from angelic behaviour from the maverick maestro.
