3. Richard Gere's Fun With Gerbils

One of the funnier if also more revolting urban legends circulating around Hollywood for years is that leading ladies' man Richard Gere once had a penchant for inserting gerbils up his, ahem, back passage, and had to go to hospital to get it removed, much to the hilarity and horror of the medical professionals involved, we imagine. However, this is one of those ridiculous stories that's just too absurd to really take seriously, especially when nobody from the hospital ever stepped forward to confirm it, and Gere doesn't even bother talking about it anymore. Gere apparently thinks the rumour was started by none other than Sylvester Stallone; the two didn't get along too well while filming The Lords of Flatbush - such that Gere was fired from the project - and so this was Sly's way of getting one over on him. Given how persistently the rumour stuck around, such that it became a full-fledged urban legend, you can call it a pretty damn good way to get back at him.
