2. A Munchkin Committed Suicide On The Set Of 'The Wizard Of Oz'
This is one of those relatively implausible urban legends that has nevertheless remained popular simply because it is part of an immensely popular film, and is actually featured in the film itself. Rumour has it that a disillusioned actor playing a munchkin on The Wizard of Oz was done with life, and decided to tie a rope around one of the set's trees and hang themselves, with the result of that effort being captured in this indelible image taken from the film. Disturbing as that is and as odd as this image looks outside of the film's context, there is a reasonable explanation for it, though you might have to squint to make sense of it. Apparently a large bird stood up and wandered through the background of the set, giving the impression of course that someone was hanging from a rope. Still, one can see why someone might have come up with this, and then attributed it to a munchkin because that's both funnier and more disturbing.
