10 Blatantly Racist Movies

7. White Chicks

A rare example that goes against the grain, in as much as it depicts racism against whites, White Chicks crudely inverts the infamous "blackface" stereotype that was perhaps made most popular by Al Jolson. Here Shawn and Marlon Wayans play FBI agents who are "forced" to go undercover and pose as the white socialite girls they are aiming to protect because, you know, there wasn't a single other option available at their disposal. We get it; it's meant to be ridiculous, but it's also pretty racist, as the pair rip through as many "white people" stereotypes as possible, such as the things we buy, the songs we apparently try to sing (badly), and what we wear. Dressed up as a silly comedy - and paired with the fact that racism against whites just isn't that prolific in the Western world - it slid by and was still a box office hit, even if, racism aside, it's an absolutely dreadful bit of filmmaking. Some film academic, somewhere, is surely writing a paper on its apparent "reverse racism" as we speak.
