10 Bloated Movie Franchises That Should Stop Immediately

3. Terminator

The Terminator was a true sci-fi classic. Terminator 2 was both groundbreaking from a technical perspective (thanks to James Cameron) and epic in scope (great acting, brilliant directing, spectacular special effects, non-stop action). Terminator 3 felt a bit forced, but was moderately enjoyable as it expanded the character arc of John Connor. T4 jumped the shark - even with the Dark Knight himself (Christian Bale) in tow. This franchise needs to end. Immediately. What's confusing about this statement? Terminator fans all over the globe collectively face-palmed themselves at the announcement that Terminator 5 will serve as the first installment of a new, standalone trilogy. Arnold Schwarzenegger has already signed on. Earlier this week, Crave's ComicBookMovie.com reported that Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor) and Michael Biehn (Kyle Reese) may both be in talks to return to the Terminator franchise. I'm not sure how that would work as both characters died previously. Even if the persistent rumors that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will also be joining the cast prove true, I have two words at the prospect of T5's June 2015 release date: money grab.
