2. Taken
I think Taken was awesome. Liam Neeson (one of my favorite actors) plus a compelling story plus all manner of buttkickery equals, well... box office gold. I did like Taken 2. It felt a little too been-there/done-that for me, but it was pretty well-received at the global box office. Does it surprise anyone that Taken 3 is already in the works? To that, I say stop. It's not nice to fool movie audiences. In Taken, Bryan Mills' daughter was kidnapped. In Taken 2, Mills' beloved ex-wife was abducted. If deductive logic/common sense holds true, then Mills himself would be the next contestant on who gets snatched up in Taken 3. And if that comes to pass, then who would come to rescue him? Are Mills' fellow ex-CIA buddies from the first film capable of such a feat? We don't really know enough about them to answer that question. What more is that to say, to do, or to see in this franchise? Are the powers-that-be at EuropaCorp actually willing to kill off Mr. Neeson's beloved character? Would anyone pay to see that? I wouldn't.
