10 Blooper Reels That Are Better Than The Actual Movie

1. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues

There is a bad habit in Hollywood in which studios will try and exploit nostalgia by releasing a sequel to a successful movie many, many years after the original. This usually falls flat, and though there are of course exceptions, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues falls firmly in the category of the former.

The first Anchorman movie in 2004 has become iconic. Ron Burgundy truly became a legend, and there was absolutely no reason to revisit the character in 2013 other than as a cash grab. Audiences didn’t respond well to the sequel, but what the studio should have done was simply release the blooper reel instead.

The chemistry between Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carrell, and David Koechner is unlike any other presented on this list, as the four men are clearly having the time of their lives making this movie. The sheer amount of improv on set makes this reel so damn funny, as it seems that they are actively trying to make the others break.

It’s not just the main four either. Christina Applegate gets her share of laughs in, as well as the impressive list of cameos including but not limited to Harrison Ford, Jim Carrey, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler. Arguably the best bit however, is the sheer joy of watching Steve Carrell and Kristen Wiig spectacularly failing to keep a straight face throughout their hilarious scenes together.
