2. Rush Hour
There are countless movies in the buddy cop genre that have captured the hearts of audiences, and Rush Hour is no different. As with too many trilogies, you could argue that these got worse with every release, but the franchise never dipped below the level of an entertaining Friday night flick.
The chemistry between Chris Tucker's James Carter and Jackie Chan's Lee is there for all to see, both from the struggles of such a wide cultural difference, and when each started embracing the other. In spite of this however, the Rush Hour series is more famous for its outtakes.
During the credits, each movie presented its blooper reel, and every time it was the highlight of the show. Not that the movies themselves were bad, because they weren’t, but because the few minutes of behind-the-scenes outtakes were so different from what you’d typically expect.
Again, a lot of this came from the challenges of Jackie Chan speaking English and Chris Tucker speaking Chinese, but the former’s ability to perform his own stunts didn’t always go perfectly to plan. There is just something funny about seeing Chan’s incredibly ambitious stunts going wrong after watching them as they were supposed to be in the movie.
