10 Bold Predictions About The Post-Justice League DCEU
1. It's Building Up To An Apocalyptic Finale
Who knows what the ultimate endgame for the DC Extended Universe is? Warner Bros probably has a clear idea by now, because with every botched film, the studio no doubt takes the time to firm up its eventual exit strategy.
The franchise's rounded conclusion will likely take the form of an apocalyptic event, a loose adaptation of Kingdom Come, Final Crisis or Injustice: Gods Among Us. All the pieces seem to fit, and this would give Warner and DC's film arm the chance to hit the hard reset button when the time comes.
Bringing one of these stories to the big screen would line up nicely with Bruce Wayne's Knightmare sequences from Batman v Superman. The dystopian future they present could easily be a loose Kingdom Come or Injustice adaptation, with the Dark Knight battling against a Man of Steel gone rogue.
It was widely believed Bruce's visions related to the events of Justice League, but at no point did we see The Flash head back in time to warn him that Supes would go rogue, and explain that Lois Lane is "the key". As it turned out, Lois was the key to bringing the risen Kal-El back on side, but all of the pieces don't quite fit together.
The apocalyptic future Batman glimpsed might yet come to pass when Darkseid arrives on the scene, and Lois could still have a "key" role to play. Could this refer to the catalytic role her death plays in Supes' rampage in Injustice?
