10 Bold Predictions About The Post-Justice League DCEU

2. Deathstroke Will Serve As Nightwing's Villain

Joe Manganiello Deathstroke was originally envisioned as The Batman's big bad, but given Matt Reeves's apparent determination to wipe the slate clean, the DC Extended Universe will need to find another purpose for him.

Along with serving as a founder member of Lex Luthor's Injustice League, DC Comics' very own terminator is a prime candidate for the role of main antagonist in Chris McKay's upcoming Nightwing solo movie.

Dick Grayson and Slade Wilson have a long-running rivalry in the comics. In fact, he's pretty much the former Robin's arch-nemesis, so handing him a role in Nightwing makes all kinds of sense if Reeves overlooks him for The Batman.

It's only recently that DC began treating Deathstroke as a Batman villain. Before that, he was very much a Teen Titans foe, making his debut in a comic which saw him face off against a team of teenage heroes led by Grayson.

Wilson is a dark doppleganger for Batman, and that's exactly why he would make the perfect Nightwing foe. The Dark Knight is a role model for Grayson, but Slade Wilson represents what somebody with the same abilities might become without Bruce Wayne's moral compass. He personifies the protagonist's inner struggle.
