10 Bonkers Harry Potter Theories That Surely Can't Be True
5. Ron Is Dumbledore
What? Has this article descended into madness. Well, yes. But I'll explain why in a minute. It's claimed by some, that Ron Weasley will live a long life before time-travelling into the past to live out the rest of his days, under the disguise Albus Dumbledore. And the clues are, apparently, staring us right in the face. Both characters are tall and thin, possessing long noses, and a younger Dumbledore is described to have had auburn hair: close to ginger, no? Dumbledore claims to have eaten a Bertie Botts Every Flavour Bean in his youth, but Botts wasn't born until 1935, when Dumbledore was nearly a hundred: what if his youth was at the same time as Harry's? Why does Ron hate maroon? Because he'll be marooned one day? Why it's probably not true There's more "evidence" but I'm just going to stop there, because it's preposterous. Is it enough for you that JK herself has rubbished it? Dumbledore had a brother for a start, and he had a different sexual orientation; sure, that can change, but it's not the kind of thing that Rowling would spring on one of her beloved Hermione, is it? The maroon thing is possibly the worst piece of "foreshadowing" you could fabricate, and given that Dumbledore's so old, his "youth" has probably lasted a lot longer than ours in retrospect. There's a similar line in Doctor Who when the Doctor claims he visited somewhere when he was "just a kid", then reveals that age to be 90.
