10 Bonkers Theories About 2015’s Movies That Surely Can’t Be True

9. It Fits Into The Pixar Theory - The Good Dinosaur

The Theory: You must know the Pixar Theory - the mad-cap notion that every single one of the Emmeryville titan's movies is actually all part of the same universe, with them collectively detailing a battle between humans and animals, a robot uprising, and time-travelling mutants (or monsters) who menace the past. And, apparently, the studio's latest fits in - it was never meant to be the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs, rather the emergent rise of homosapiens. Why It's Believable: Fair play to SuperCarlinBrothers for their effort on this one. The premier Pixar theorists on YouTube, they suggest this is the divergence point for the universe and actually use it as an explanation for why we get more anthropomorphic animals in all the movies. Why It Can't Be True: Put simply, the Pixar theory is a load of hokum - it takes a bunch of cool easter eggs and tries to find deeper meaning in them that often stretches credibility. It's certainly impressive, but hard to take seriously. And by far the most stretched idea (apart from saying Boo is the Witch from Brave) is The Good Dinosaur - that it's an alternate reality is the whole point of it.
