10 Box Office Bombs You Could Spot From A Mile Away
5. Monster Trucks
You can almost picture the moment this project was greenlit; a bunch of studio bigwigs trying to figure out their next big hit when someone pipes up and says 'but what if a monster truck... was a truck with a monster in it?' Jaws hit the floor, round of applause, almost four years and $125 million later you got yourself a box office bomb.
Impressively, 26 year-old Lucas Till playing a high school student isn't even the strangest thing about it. Monster Trucks has no idea what it wants to be, and doesn't have the talent in front of or behind the camera to figure it out and ends up as a cheesy 1980's TV movie armed with a blockbuster budget.
Originally scheduled for release in May 2015, Monster Trucks limped into theaters over eighteen months later and earned a paltry $64.5 million worldwide, with Paramount set to lose $115 million thanks to the movie's colossal failure.
