4. Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters
If you come from the school of thought that believed the classic fairy tale popularized by the Brothers Grimm would make for an enjoyable CGI-laden action-comedy, then Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters is the movie for you.
The movie is exactly as ridiculous as the premise would suggest and gleefully embraces the fact, delivering plenty of excessive gore as well as a few genuinely funny moments as it veers knowingly close to parody. Which is to be expected really, with the presence of Will Ferrell and Adam McKay as producers.
Not as blatantly terrible as fellow steampunk-inspired actioners Van Helsing and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen but hardly memorable either, Tommy Wirkola's strange mish-mash of genres turned out to be a roaring financial success, making over four times the budget back on its way to a global haul of $226.3m.
