8. Laura's Attitude Is Explained By Her Emotional IQ - Logan

Though much of the praise coming out of Logan (2017) rightly centred around the two leading performances of Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart as a weary Wolverine and an increasingly unstable Professor Charles Xavier, respectively, Dafne Keen also more than held her own as Laura, the biological daughter of the titular character.

Throughout the feature, Laura (or X-23 as she's sometimes referred to as) can be seen exhibiting her father's trademark rage on more than one occasion. However, there are also a number of times when the character seems to act a lot younger than her 11 years on the planet would suggest she should. For example, Laura insists on riding a coin-operated pony at a gas station and also chooses to push as many buttons as possible in an elevator.

However, Laura's Transigen file, which is briefly spotted during the movie, seems to clarify why she acts the way she does.

According to said file, Laura has an emotional IQ somewhere between 74-78 months. This means that she reacts emotionally to certain social situations as a child of the age of six would.

After being raised to be nothing more than a killing machine and never really having a childhood, it's understandable (and rather depressing) that Laura wouldn't have had the chance to mature emotionally as any normal child would and this easily missed detail absolutely confirms this to be the case.
