10 Brilliant Movie Villains Defeated In The DUMBEST Way Possible

6. Owen Davian - Mission Impossible III

Although Philip Seymour Hoffman has played his fair share of unlikable characters in films, we rarely saw him play an outright villain.

That was until he was cast in Mission Impossible III as Owen Davian. Because Hoffman isn't a physically intimidating guy, audiences weren't sure if he would fit in an action movie, especially if he was going to square off against Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt.

Those worries were put to the rest in the first scene, where we see Owen effortlessly toy and torture Ethan before seemingly killing his fiancee. Throughout the film, Owen is shown to be capable of outsmarting his emeries time and time again.

So, how does IMF's top agent defeat the sadistic arms dealer?

Well, after the two of them tumble onto a road, Davian is killed after a jeep crashes into him. Because of how over-the-top the action is in the series, it seems uncreative, while simultaneously cartoony to kill off the lead villain like this.

The way his shoe flies off as he collides into the vehicle is so comical, you'd swear it was done as an intentional gag.
