6. Jeremy Irons - Dungeons & Dragons (2000)
New Line CinemaBased on the perennially popular role-playing game, the feature-length adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons is nothing short of awful. Terrible special effects, uninspired direction and laughable dialogue along with a strangely-assembled cast including TV's Jimmy Olsen, Thora Birch and Marlon Wayans result in a movie that isn't even so bad it's good. It's just bad. The only redeeming feature of the whole sorry exercise is Jeremy Irons' hilariously over-the-top villainous turn. The classically-trained thespian turns up for a paycheck after surely realising that he's signed up for a turd of a movie, and so just decides to go for broke. Irons doesn't so much chew the scenery as swallow it whole, in a performance that would put most pantomime villains to shame. Screaming, shouting, pulling all manner of strange faces and delivering his lines in the most eeeeevil way possible, this is nothing short of a masterclass in overacting.
