10 Brutally Violent Movie Deaths That Came Out Of Nowhere

8. Death By Neo-Nazis - Smokin' Aces (2006)

Ben Affleck, probably the biggest star in what's essentially a medium budget B-movie? Yeah, he's definitely gonna make it to the end. I mean, it's not like you'd introduce him as a central player in the ensemble just to have a bunch of psychotic neo-Nazis waste him in a hail of bullets. Joe Carnahan, however, thought doing exactly that was a great idea, making the best use of Affleck since Hollywoodland. In Carnahan's rat race-with-guns actioner Smokin' Aces, Affleck plays seasoned bail bondsman Jack Dupree, sent by lawyer Rip Reed (Jason Bateman) to collect magician and budding gangster Buddy 'Aces' Israel (Jeremy Piven), before he's killed or captured by any of number assassins and law officials currently seeking him out in his native Las Vegas. Dupree, however, gets taken out of the game surprisingly early, when the unhinged Tremor brothers (among them a pre-Star Trek Chris Pine) pass by in their souped-up fascist-mobile and casually wipe him out. It's probably the best moment in the movie, if only because it's an early showcase for what the inevitable Batman Vs. Captain Kirk movie might look like.
