6. Ryan Reynolds - Hal Jordan - The Green Lantern
Remember that Green Lantern movie they made? Oh, you never saw it? I'm not surprised. I don't think anybody else did, either. Thinking of checking it out on DVD or something? I wouldn't bother: it's terrible. Like, super terrible. And although the movie is bad in pretty much every aspect, it's in no part helped by the incredibly - let's face - ill-suited Ryan Reynolds performance at its core. I mean, I think the guy might have tried his best and everything, but he does seem kind of mis-cast. It's just too hard to take him seriously - which is what were fanboys worried about from the start. Back when it was first announced that Reynolds had been cast as Hal Jordan, there were lots of concerns as to how he was going to play the smart-mouthed but ultimately serious Green Lantern, because people see Reynolds as a comedy actor, apparently. I'm kind of shocked at that, because he's never made me laugh. And yet Reynolds plays Jordan kind of like a douche from the very first time we meet him, during a lazy "one night stand wake up" sequence. Blah. Some fans were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, of course, but there was nothing memorable here. It speaks volumes that Reynolds has admitted he's not keen to reprise the role anytime soon. Or ever.
