10 Changes That Would Improve The Marvel Cinematic Universe

1. The Death Of Nick Fury

In the fine words of James Franco in meta-comedy This Is The End, Nick Fury has "gots to go. He's gots to go!" Samuel L. Jackson has embodied this badass character from the very beginning of the MCU, of course, and though fans are certainly grateful for the way in which Fury been used as something of a plot device to bring all the films and their characters together with a no-nonsense attitude, he's kind of outgrown his purpose. S.H.I.E.L.D. is dead; time for Fury to follow. A little harsh, perhaps? Maybe, but consider the fact that Marvel need to think about downsizing aspects of the MCU in order to stop it from getting out of hand. Throwing this character off the deep end kind of works as the shared universe equivalent of trimming the verge, if you will. And no integrity would be lost on account of such an act, given the potential of the dramatic heights that an event like this would spur on. Plus, it's super bold. It's a no-brainer, really. Nick... thanks for everything you've done. Fans await your imitate demise (or, you know, as soon as Samuel L. Jackson's deal with Marvel runs out).
