10 Characters The MCU Wishes It Could've Introduced Differently

4. Quicksilver

This one, admittedly, isn't Marvel's fault. Whatever you might think about Age of Ultron or how it handled the Maximoff twins, Quicksilver's death has been used to fully inform Scarlet Witch's character arc going forward. She's one of the more complex and engaging heroes, and a lot of that stems from the trauma of losing her brother.

But, but but but but but, had Marvel known just how well Fox was going to nail the exact same character, they'd likely have rewritten their version.

There hasn't been too much that McAvoy X-Men universe has got right, but Evan Peters' portrayal as Quicksilver has provided it with some of the best scenes in any superhero film of the last few years. The exploding mansion, the bullet dodging, all of it has been some seminal effects work that makes full use of what's so interesting about the character.

Had Marvel known just how upstaged their version of Peter Maximoff would be, they'd either have given him Aaron Taylor-Johnson a lot more to do in the role or simply written him out entirely. The comparisons between the two don't ever come off favourably for Marvel.
