10 Characters The MCU Wishes It Could've Introduced Differently
5. Adam Warlock
Of all the characters from Marvel's comics who haven't yet had their importance translated onto the big screen, Adam Warlock is easily in the Top... hmmm... Top 5?.. maybe Top 3? In a weird way, his moment has passed him by, as he's so integral to the Infinity Gauntlet story, but he's still crying out for a proper introduction.
Thus he was teased during the post-credits of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and naturally, fans speculated that we'd soon be seeing him added to the impending Infinity Wars movie. That was maybe a little fanciful given where the story already was in the MCU, but nobody at Marvel foresaw the impending disaster that was going to be Guardians 3. James Gunn has returned, but the film has now been pushed back to Phase 5.
Had Marvel known just how long the gaps would be between 2 and 3 they'd likely have introduced him elsewhere in the franchise, or simply not at all. If there was no chance of him arriving for the one story he's usually associated with, there's an argument you don't need him at all. But just having him arrive in the immediate aftermath as a supporting figure for the Guardians feels weirder still.
