10 Characters Who Must Be Introduced In The DC Extended Universe
4. Nightwing
If you watch Titans, then you'll know that Nightwing has finally made his debut in that DC Universe TV series (it's only took two entire seasons, one of which he was no longer even Robin in). Honestly, Brenton Thwaites is doing fine with the material he's been given there, but the character deserves better, and a big screen debut is very long overdue at this point.
Dick Grayson came close to getting his due in a live-action feature helmed by The LEGO Batman Movie's Chris McKay, but that project fell apart around the same time as Ben Affleck's The Batman. As a result, Nightwing has been put back on the shelf, and his big screen future remains a mystery.
Now, the hope is that he will be given the chance to shine in this next wave of DC Comics adaptations, and while there's not any one project in particular which would necessarily make a good launching platform, the events of The Flash could certainly facilitate that. After all, there's no reason at all to believe Michael Keaton's Batman couldn't have met Dick and taken him under his wing(s).
Now, all these years later, it's easy to imagine the former Robin breaking out on his own as Nightwing.
