10 Characters Who Should Appear In Spider-Man: Homecoming
8. Norman Osborn
While Homecoming offers a chance to include any number of new villains to the franchise, there’s one familiar face that just can’t be left aside. As Spider-Man's arch-nemesis, Norman Osborn is simply too tightly entwined in the hero's life to not include in this new series.
In terms of his inclusion, if the film borrows from Ultimate Spider-Man as believed, it could be Oscorp’s OZ formula that gave Peter his powers. Alternatively, Osborn could be introduced as a rival to Peter's new mentor, Tony Stark or simply as the standoffish father of Harry Osborn.
The film doesn’t need to rush into another depiction of the Green Goblin, but a role somewhere in between Chris Cooper’s cameo and Willem Dafoe’s lead antagonist could be perfect and set Osborn up for the future.
More than his presence in the Spider-Man universe, Osborn has been a key player in the Marvel comics outside of Spider-Man. That history, coupled with his villainous exploits and industrial power make him seem like a great character to introduce into the larger MCU sooner rather than later.
