10 Characters Who Should Appear In Spider-Man: Homecoming

5. Jean DeWolff

Spider-Man Characters
Marvel Comics

When it comes to Spider-Man's relationship with the police, their thoughts on him typically range from a nuisance at best to a wanted vigilante at worst. Nevertheless, there’s been one cop who has often stood by him and been one of his staunchest allies in the fight against crime, police captain Jean DeWolff.

She’s had a strong professional relationship with Spider-Man in the comics and her presence on film could help bring out his more serious side. She treats him like an adult and respects him for what he does. It offers a nice change to how he’s usually perceived by authority figures and could create an entirely different dynamic with the police than he’s had in previous films.

In addition to all this, her inclusion could help set up a future outing, specifically an adaptation of “The Death of Jean DeWolff.” An iconic story in Spider-Man’s history, this arc chronicling her murder could make for the beginnings of a crime wave or a hunt for a serial killer and could be a great starting point for a sequel.
