5. The Guy Who Just Wants To Help

This includes cops, figures of authority and generally people who turn up to help other characters in their hour of need. If you appear in a dangerous scene with either the know-how or the experience to help, chances are you will never get the opportunity to show your skills, and the killer will ignore all logic and simply kill you quicker than the far more frail and vulnerable other characters. If you're a cop, with a weapon especially, the rules state that you must be killed immediately (or at least terribly wounded, and taken away later on a stretcher): the more suitable you are to actually helping, the less likely you are to survive. It's best to never have a weapon at all - unless everyone else is dead and it belongs to the killer (in which case you can safely accept that you are The Hero) - or to know anything about the history of the killer or potentially how to kill him. His eventual demise - no matter how temporary - must be an act of impulse and of desperate passion for the sake of drama, and not a carefully set-out plot.
