The Beast dies. Disney have done the evil once more, and killed off the Beast. Only temporarily, but when Gaston stabs him from behind and he then falls to his own death, there is that fleeting, heartbreaking moment when we believe that Belle and the Beast will never be together due to Gaston's devious plan, and murder of the Beast. Luckily, as Belle professes her love for the Beast, the magic spell placed on him at the start of the film is broken, and he turns into a majestic prince,
and they all lived happily ever after... The film shows that love truly can overcome all. Beauty and the Beast tells the tale that you must accept the ugliness of something before it will become beautiful to you, and this heartwarming sentiment and the many levels on which it can be interpreted and applied to everyday life meant that many audiences around the world could identify with the story of Beauty and the Beast.
