10 Classic Movies Ruined By Just One Scene

8. Ice Skating King Kong

Maybe calling out an unrealistic moment in a movie about a 25-foot ape is daft, but there’s only so far somebody can suspend their disbelief. In Peter Jackson’s remake of the Hollywood golden era classic, Kong is brought to America as a giant monkey freak show for the entertainment of New Yorkers and after breaking free of his shackles wreaks havoc on the streets of the Big Apple in search of the object of his bestial affections, Ann Darrow.

Though the army is in hot pursuit, the love-struck ape and his lady seemingly have time to stop by Central Park, whereupon the authorities instantly manage to lose track of them, for a spot of pointless romantic ice skating. Now, New York is a big city but it’s not that big especially if you’re a giant gorilla and though the scene is probably meant to demonstrate Kong’s humanity it’s a bit of a needless interlude in an otherwise action-packed sequence.
