10 Classic Movies Ruined By Just One Scene
9. Darth Vader’s Nooooooooooo
It’s difficult to pinpoint the exact moment of ruination in George Lucas’s Star Wars prequel trilogy – though pseudo-Jamaican space fool Jar Jar Binks and pretty much every stunted conversation between Padme and Anakin ‘I don’t like sand’ Skywalker are big contenders – but there’s one moment in Revenge of the Sith that’s universally cringe-worthy even if you’re one of the few fans of the prequels.
Towards the end of the film Anakin, at the seminal moment when he becomes the full-fledged Darth Vader, learns of his beloved Padme’s death he unleashes a long, dramatic ‘Nooooooooooo!’ that’s probably supposed to sound anguished and enraged. What it actually ends up being is more awkwardly comical than anything else.
So awkward in fact that James Earl Jones, unbilled in the credits, has yet to own up to it being him.
