10 Classic Movies Most People Lie About Having Seen
9. The Great Escape
Odder than even Dirty Dancing is the fact that four percent of people surveyed had lied about seeing The Great Escape. John Sturges' World War II POW action film definitely has its fans and you can imagine being reprimanded for having not seen it. Despite being an American movie, the film focuses on British prisoners of war and has been adopted by the country. So maybe, if you're a Brit, it is your duty to see The Great Escape. It's often repeated on television, but it does have a long run-time (165 minutes) which might put some people off. Like Dirty Dancing, The Great Escape has become iconic and its best scenes are well-known to the public (many of whom would know the scenes and the story without having seen the film itself).
