10 Classic Movies That Will Inevitably Be Remade

Whether we like it or not.

Remakes, reboots and reimaginings; in recent years, 're' has certainly become Hollywood's go-to prefix. In an age where nearly every high-profile movie that hits theaters is based on an existing property, original projects are continually being overlooked in favor of those with built-in appeal and name recognition. There are currently dozens of established properties in development that are being rehashed and updated for the current generation of audiences, with the trend showing no signs of slowing down. With that being said, there have been plenty of great remakes over the years. Classic movies like The Fly, Scarface, The Thing and Heat were all based on existing movies, while Ocean's Eleven, Cape Fear and True Grit all delivered updates that were superior to the originals. However, on the other side of the coin are the dozens of lazy and uninspired remakes that seem to think a recognizable title will overcome the movie's numerous shortcomings, with the dozens of remade horror movies that flood theaters with alarming regularity being the main culprits. This article will take a look at ten classic movies that will one day face the inevitable remake treatment. Each of these titles remain enduringly popular decades after their release and many of them should never be remade, but they will be. In fact, several of these movies have had remakes in active development for years, but as of yet have still to make it into production. Unfortunately with the way things in the movie business are going, it is surely only a matter of time. Do you agree that these remakes will inevitably make it to theaters? Could any of them actually benefit from an update? Are there any other inevitable remakes that you would have included? As always, sign off in the comments below.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
