10 Classic Movies That Will Inevitably Be Remade

10. An American Werewolf In London (1981)

Given Hollywood's penchant for remaking every established horror property under the sun, its a little surprising that John Landis' cult classic has yet to be subjected to an update. However, it is a virtual guarantee that one day An American Werewolf in London will be given a shiny 21st Century makeover when the studios run out of existing horror franchises to butcher, given the simple yet brilliant central concept of the movie. Its not like they haven't been trying; Landis sold the rights back in 2009 and the project is currently set up at Dimension Films, but it remains stuck in development hell for now. An American Werewolf In London is as funny as it is frightening, and remains a benchmark in the horror genre almost 35 years on thanks to strong performances from the cast, a solid script and Rick Baker's incredible practical effects. Most remakes of classic horror movies don't tend to be particularly good and Landis' deft blend of gore, scares, surreal dream sequences and comedy would no doubt be diluted into a generic monster flick, forgetting everything that makes the original so special in favor of cheap jump scares and an abundance of CGI. It would be much better if they remade An American Werewolf in Paris instead, because that movie sucked in the first place.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
