Potential spoilers in this entry (but I'll keep it as vague as possible). At the end of the movie, we hear a radio message that, among other, spoiler-y things, mentions "survivors at Mercy Hospital". It's pretty incongruous in the movie, but is actually one final easter egg; the line is directly from Left 4 Dead. This could, of course, be a coincidence, but I don't think so; director Dan Trachtenberg has shown a real affinity for video games - he's regularly tweeting his thoughts on the latest releases and even made the Portal short film Still Alive (and, with J.J. Abrams saying Half-Life and Portal films are still in development, could be taking that series to the big screen) - so this is probably a subtle way to honour one of his favourites.
