9. Mike Birbiglia - Sleepwalk With Me
The brilliant Sleepwalk With Me marked the first time I was truly exposed to the genius that is Mike Birbiglia. This is a movie that, quite literally, grabs your attention right off the bat, and doesn't let it go until the end of the film. However, it wasn't until a friend of mine urged me to check out Birbiglia's stand-up, that I fully realized how phenomenal of a job he actually did (shout out to Amanda for that. I've been writing here long enough to give shout-outs, right?). In the film, Bigbigs plays an exaggerated version of himself, before he was an established comic. And, wow, the dude spectacular at playing a bad comic, as great as he is in reality. As far as I know, Mike had no formal acting training, just experience as apart of an improv troupe, and obviously his stand-up/one man show act. This makes it even more impressive. Mark my words, Mike Birbiglia will be a well-respected actor in a few years time.
