10 Comedy Actors Who Made Great Horror Movie Characters
3. Bill Hader As Richie Tozier- IT Chapter Two
Much like its 1990 counterpart, IT Chapter Two failed to capture the magic and thrills of its predecessor despite the best efforts of Andy Muschietti's direction and a talented cast featuring the likes of James McAvoy, Bill Skarsgard and Jessica Chastain.
As much as the grown-up version of the Losers Club felt a bit more developed than the '90s version, it ultimately fell into the same pitfall as its counterpart in that the adults are less compelling than their younger selves.
Despite this, Bill Hader was able to overcome these hurdles and embody an interesting persona while letting his unique brand of physical and emotional comedy shine. Much like his younger counterpart Finn Wolfhard, Hader's Richie gave the film a sorely needed comical edge, one that came in handy to counter the film's bleakest moments.
It helped that his macabre sense of humour did not feel too out of place in the film and served as expert character continuity as Richie always used jokes to cope with his trauma. All in all, the role served as yet another reminder of Hader's depth and range as a comedic and dramatic actor.
