10 Comic Book Characters That Were Slaughtered By Hollywood

1. Deadpool

X-Men Origins: Wolverine ruined one of the greatest comic book characters of all time; why would you seal the mouth of the €˜Merc with a Mouth?€™ Although there is a possible spin off that may or may not happen which could remedy the situation, it is hard to see Ryan Reynolds' portrayal as successful. The post credit scene for the film featured Deadpool€™s head telling the audience to €˜shh€™ while his body reaches for the non-attached head. This hints that the character may be restored to his comic success, although the failure of the film to do justice to the character within the introductory film is a dismal reflection on the poor film that Origins was; alone it is fine, but it does not fit into the X-Men mythos with much ease. The character in this film has so little with this comic counterpart that they are almost separate entities; aside from the black eye marks that emerge when Deadpool uses Cyclops€™ vision, there are very few ways to determine that Reynolds was Deadpool. Deadpool is one of the few characters that almost everyone is begging to be bought to the big screen; he is comedic, brutal, captivating and unique. He could be as maniacal as Heath Ledger€™s Joker, as funny as Andrew Garfield€™s Spider-Man, and as lovable as Loki. Like this article? Let us know in the comments section below.
