10 Comic Book Movie Characters Who Were Screwed By Terrible Writing
9. Deadpool (X-Men Origins: Wolverine)
Now we move on from one X-Men related travesty to another. Wolverine's first solo movie outing is indisputably one of the worst comic book movies ever made. Whether you blame the writers or the producers is up to you, but one thing is clear; there was zero respect for the characters and the one who suffered most from this was Deadpool. Ryan Reynolds initially appeared to be a good fit for the 'Merc with a Mouth', but then the script took a bizarre turn and the wise-cracking gun for hire became a silent weapon who possessed retractable katanas in his arms and shot lasers out of his eyes. If the movie was anything like a Deadpool comic, Ryan Reynolds would have used sign language at that point to directly ask the audience "Is this script for real?" Ryan Reynolds has since fought to create a solo Deadpool movie and despite previous mistreatment, this could potentially be a good move for the character. Hell, they couldn't make it any worse... could they?
