This remains one of the most famous parting of the ways in comic book movie history: Edgar Wrights departure from Ant-Man, after eight years in production with Marvel Studios. With neither party willing to start a slagging match, fans will always be left wondering exactly what happened to force Edgar Wright out. There are a few clues out there, but a definite answer remains elusive. Certainly, it seems like a lot of the movies links to the wider MCU were added after the Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz and The Worlds End director exited the movie. The Falcon scene was definitely a late addition, according to a Peyton Reed interview by Uproxx. The Hollywood Reporter also had some intel about Wrights departure. According to their unnamed source, "Kevin Feige run Marvel with a singularity of vision, but when you take a true auteur and throw him into the mix, this is what you get [] They don't want you to speak up too much or have too much vision. Wright is certainly an auteur, and its difficult to imagine him wanting to conform to Marvels rules over his own vision. We dont know if thats exactly why he left, but its the best guess we have.
