10 Comic Book Movie Henchmen Who Deserve Way More Praise

1. Bob The Goon - Batman (1989)

Lady Deathstrike
Warner Bros.

Was it going to be anyone else?

Want some relationship advice? Get yourself a man who is as devoted and unquestioning to you, as Bob The Goon is to Jack Napier. Even before Jack fell bloody-face first into a drum of chemicals, Bob was always there for him. He's legit ride-or-die.

Bob doesn't judge Jack for being a clown. Bob doesn't question any job he's given. He doesn't find it strange that his life as a mobster goes from organised crime enforcer, to dancing to Prince music on a parade float as his boss prepares to release poisonous gas over a city...

But enough about that horrible detail. Let's focus on just how devoted he is; and how unflinching and supportive he is to Jack Napier's twisted ideas. Whether he's a dynamite photographer, stellar graffiti expert or quick on the draw with his gun, Bob has talents in every corner of society.

In the film's climax, Bob is having the time of his life on the Gotham City parade float. And in his last moment, he obeys his boss' commands and is unceremoniously killed for no reason.

RIP Bob The Goon. We wish there were a million more of you.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
