10 Comic Book Movie Performances So Boring It Actually Hurt

7. Emma Frost - January Jones - X-Men: First Class

On the whole, January Jones gets a lot of schtick for being a "not very good actress." For those who want to change their minds about that, check her out on TV's Mad Men, where she excels as Betty Draper. For those who want hard evidence that, no, January Jones cannot act, look no further than her turn as Emma Frost in X-Men: First Class, where she stands out like a sore - and very frost-bitten - thumb against the likes of Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, and Jennifer Lawrence. Presumably hired for gorgeous looks, her performance is just ice cold. And not at all in the way that a character like Emma Frost demands; January looks like she's having trouble reading her lines for the most part, and never seems to "gel" with the comic book world she's supposed to be inhabiting. Aside from looking confused, though, mostly Jones is just downright forgettable - Emma Frost is without a doubt one of the most interesting characters in the Marvel canon, and yet the actress brings none of the weight or dimension - and she's given a relatively good amount of screentime to do so, too. Back to Mad Men you go, Jan.
