10 Comic Book Movie Performances ONLY Made Possible By Intense Method Acting

3. Sebastian Stan Was Clueless For Real Due To Marvel's Secrecy (Avengers: Infinity War)

Though Avengers: Infinity War is still a few months away, Sebastian Stan has commented that much of Bucky's role in the film involves him being kept in the dark regarding a pervasive mystery, something that Marvel made very easy for him to relate to, considering he spent almost the entire shoot without seeing a finished script.

This is common practice for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Infinity War's production has been especially secretive, with Stan and other actors only receiving their lines on the day of shooting.

Stan said, "Between the writers and Kevin [Feige] and the Russos, everybody kind of guesses their next move, so to speak, and I feel like they know very well what I’ll be bringing…I’m gonna be handed a piece of paper, and then I’m gonna go and do the scene."

While the lack of prep time may have proven detrimental to other members of the Infinity War cast, for a character like Bucky, being kept at arms' length allows Stan to easily identify with him. A weird, enforced brand of method acting for sure, but method acting it absolutely is all the same.
