10 Comic Book Movie Performances That Ruined Actors' Careers

Could Heath Ledger have survived the hype that came after his performance as the Joker? Would he have been able to leave that most iconic of performances behind him and not be typecast or entirely over-shadowed? Mark Hamill might suggest that he would have struggled.

In truth, if Ledger hadn't died so tragically while filing The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus he might well have joined the ever increasing pile of actors who failed to put their defining roles behind them. Hamill might be top of the pyramid, but he's far from the only one, and when you consider that the comic book movie genre seems curiously prolific when it comes to ruining careers, the odds were stacked even more against Ledger.

So which actors would he have joined on the list of the poor unfortunate souls destroyed (at the very least for a while) by what should have been career making performances in comic book movies?
