10 Comic Book Movie Plots That Rely On Idiotic Decisions

1. Putting The Chitauri Up Against Earth's Heroes (The Avengers)

Thanos, the Other and Loki are all partly responsible for this idiotic decision which was the driving force behind the coming together of the Avengers and, as such, the plot of the movie as a whole. The Chitauri just weren't cut out to go against Earth's heroes. Loki in particular must have known that, given that he had clearly done his research on them and he must have known in particular that his brother would come to Earth's aid and that the Chitauri were absolutely no match for him. Heck, they weren't even a match individually for Black Widow or Hawkeye, so there was literally no chance of them ever even scratching the likes of Thor and the Hulk. Moreover, Loki even specifically made a point of getting the Avengers attention, which helped them to come together - another stupid decision and one that really makes no sense. The Other got it right when he told Thanos after the final battle that to challenge Earth would be "to court death", but they really should have known that before the attack.
