10 Comic-Book Movie Post-Credits Scenes That Weren't Worth Waiting For

6. Bruce Taking A Nap (Iron Man 3)

Iron Man 3 was a very different superhero movie, due to the fact it was written and directed by Shane Black.

Black is known for his offbeat scripts and stories, and this second Iron Man sequel very much fell in line with that trend; big bad comic-book villain The Mandarin was a British actor, Tony spends the entire second act working with a ten-year-old boy, and this post-credits scene revealed that the entire film was a story being told by Tony to a rather sleepy Dr. Bruce Banner.

Uh... what? Does this mean we cannot trust the events of the film, since they were shown to us solely from Tony's perspective?

This was a confusing moment to include, and while slightly amusing, it wasn't the big, exciting introduction to the MCU's Phase 2 post-credits scenes we'd all hoped for - especially since it had been a whole year since The Avengers dropped its Thanos teaser.

It wouldn't have been unreasonable to expect a brief clip featuring some of the MCU's upcoming new additions, like the Guardians or Ant-Man, but once again, Marvel's penchant for humour - which works well in the main movies - outweighed their desire to leave us with one last surprise, which, if you know people are going to sit through ten minutes of credits anyway, should be a priority.
