10 Comic-Book Movie Post-Credits Scenes That Weren't Worth Waiting For
2. Trask's Confinement (X-Men: Days Of Future Past - The Rogue Cut)
The theatrical version of X-Men: Days Of Future Past contained just the one post-credits scene of Apocalypse, surrounded by a crowd of worshippers, building pyramids using his telekinetic powers.
However, the extended Rogue Cut of the film added in another completely passable moment midway through the credits roll, showing Peter Dinklage's Bolivar Trask, who, after being apprehended at the end of the movie, is now being kept in the same facility that previously housed Magneto.
Essentially, this repeats to us the information that was already provided at the end of the movie - Trask was arrested. Physically showing him in prison does not change that fact or make you view it in a different light, because even without the scene, you know he was taken into custody for his crimes.
It probably didn't help that this scene was followed by the far superior Apocalypse stinger, which made this Trask moment look even worse by comparison; it's fun, but ultimately serves no point or purpose, and as if to hammer that point home, it wasn't even included in the cut of the movie most people will see.
