10 Comic Book Movie Roles Matthew McConaughey Should Play

8. Resurrection Man

In fact whilst the majority of the Marvel Universe appears to be centred on New York City, DC do well at expanding their horizons. Admittedly it's mostly in fictional stand-ins for real locations, but they actually bother to leave the Coasts behind and create the likes of Viceroy, South Carolina as well. Which is where the hero Resurrection Man hails form. Created by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning €“ who had a big hand in the Guardians Of The Galaxy makeover that lead to the team's look and roster in the film €“ Mitch Shelley has a rather novel superpower. Namely he's immortal, and every time he dies he comes back with a superpower that corresponds to the way he was offed. Died in a fire? He returns like the Human Torch. Drowned? Basically Aquaman, without the scales. It was a really cool book and an interesting character, the story being penned more like a Lost-style TV drama than a superhero comic. McConaughey has the talent and the accent to do a character who has to deal with death on a near-constant basis justice.
